  • Includes clear, red, green, and purple acrylic caps, 1 cleaning brush/removal tool, and instructions
  • BPA free
  • Works with Keurig 2.0 brewers (must reuse Keurig 2.0 K-Cup Packs)

The My-Cap cap allows you to reuse your K-Cup Packs. Refill them with your favorite coffee or tea and recycle them many times before they have to be thrown out. That lowers the cost to brew each cup and also give you better brews each time. In addition, you will be reducing your environmental impact (more info here). Each time you reuse a Cup, you reduce the cost even more on a per-cup basis. The more you use them, the cheaper they get!

The Keurig brewer standard approach involves the purchase of K-Cup packs with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, etc. These cups make excellent coffee. But they each cost anywhere from 60 to 80 per cup depending on the quantity and where you purchase them. If you like to drink coffee like I do, this can add up to quite a bill very quickly.

So you say, "why not get the Keurig My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Unit?" Good idea. But there are a few problems with this reusable system. First, it cost $14 and up. If you want 10 of them, that's $140 just for the reusable filters. Second, the cup does not produce as good of a cup of coffee. The designs are different and the water can flow out the sides of the filter basket rather than down through the coffee (take a look at it closely). Third, the design is big, bulky, and hard to store. If you already have a turnstile for your Cups, you can not store these there.

I wanted to write and say how superior I've found your My Caps over other generic copy cats. You must be using a better grade of plastic and I've learned the hard way. After using your caps for a few years, they began to crack so I decided to purchase more. Unfortunately I was lured by a lower price and purchased generic ones only to find them all cracking within a few months. It's true. You get what you pay for!  12/2018

Questions and Answers:

Q: Why should I buy more than one Cap?

A: True, you could get by on just one Cap. However, the main reason most people by the Keurig brewers is for convenience. When you buy just on cap you are forced to wash out the K-Cup and cap each time you use it defeating the convenience of the Keurig system. If you buy 16 or 24 caps, then you can make up a whole box of K-Cup Packs in advance and still have the convenience you originally were looking for. It is just a lower cost!

Q: How many times can the K-Cup Pack be reused?

A: When re-using the filter in the K-Cup Pack, 10-20 times is possible. The paper filter in these cups is very durable. Wash it out every time and you will get many uses. In addition, you can now buy (on our ordering page) filters to use in the K-Cup Pack with the Cap. This will allow you to remove the filter that comes with the K-Cup Pack and insert a new filter each time.

Q: How many times can the Cap be reused?

A: Forever. This Cap is made of extremely strong plastic. Keep it clean and re-use it forever.

Q: Will the My-Cap Cap work with any K-Cup Pack?

A: Yes and no. Not all of the K-Cup Pack are made exactly alike. It works well with any K-Cup Pack with a filter in it. Please note that some K-Cup Packs like Hot Cocoa do not have any filters in them.

Q: What is the difference between a Acrylic and PC cap?

A: The acrylic caps are the newer caps (recommended) and they produce a better cup of coffee, are BPA free, slightly larger, and leak less. The PC (polycarbonate) caps are the older style and contain BPA.

Q: Why reuse the K-Cup Packs?

A: The primary reason is cost. Reusing your K-Cup Packs will reduce your cost per cup significantly. In addtion, you will help the environment by not producing so much trash. For more information on waste produced on a Keurig Brewer read here.

Q: Will my Brewer be damaged?

A: The answer is No. Your brewer will not be damaged. We have sold over 500,000 Caps and Capsules and have never had any complaints about damaging a machine.

Q: Is the cap machine washable?

A: Yes. It is very durable and is Dishwasher Safe.

Q: How much coffee should I put in the K-Cup Pack?

A: Fill the K-Cup Pack up about 3/4 of the way. Make sure you use a fine grind.

Q: What coffee grind should I use?

A: In general, very fine. The coffee used in K-Cup Packs is almost an espresso grind. When you clean a K-Cup Pack after using it the first time, feel the coffee between your fingers. Remember that and that is how your grind should feel when you grind your coffee. Also, this is a matter of taste, so experimenting is a good thing to do. In the end, if you like it, then it is the right grind.

Q: Is there a way to use a fresh filter each time I make a K-Cup Pack?

A: You can purchase unformed and formed filters on our web site. This will allow you to remove the filter that comes with the K-Cup Pack and insert a new filter each time.

Q: Will the Caps work with Keurig 2.0 Brewers?

A: Yes, you must reuse a Keurig 2.0 K-Cup pack. Leave the foil on the edge of the K-Cup and the brewer will work fine.
